Leading with Care

We are deeply committed to the well-being and safety of all who participate in our ministries, especially children and vulnerable individuals. As part of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, we follow the Leading with Care program, which ensures that all leaders, volunteers, and staff are trained and equipped to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone in our church community.

What is Leading with Care?

Leading with Care is a comprehensive program developed by the Presbyterian Church in Canada to safeguard those in our care and to provide the highest standards of pastoral and ministry leadership. It sets clear guidelines for the protection and care of children, youth, and vulnerable adults in all areas of church life. Through this program, we foster an environment where individuals can feel safe, respected, and valued.

Our Commitment

  • Training and Screening: All volunteers and staff involved in ministry work are required to complete the Leading with Care. This includes thorough background checks and ongoing education to ensure that we are creating the safest space possible for everyone.
  • Accountability: We maintain clear policies and procedures to ensure accountability in all aspects of ministry. This helps to protect both our leaders and those they serve.
  • Open Communication: We encourage open and respectful communication within our congregation. If concerns ever arise, we are committed to addressing them with the utmost care and attention.

Through Leading with Care, St. Andrew’s ensures that our ministry is not only spiritually enriching but also a place where all individuals can experience God’s love in a secure and supportive environment.
